OVERVIEW
Susan Brooks is an attorney, consultant, and coach with over 30 years of experience in all facets of organizational and employee development. An attorney and management consultant, Susan has experience in human resources management, coaching, recruitment strategies and communications for businesses, professional services firms, nonprofit organizations, and political advocacy groups. Susan is a published thought leader and has a special interest in models of success for those underrepresented in the executive ranks. She also coaches prospective law students on gaining admission to law school.

Susan helps clients understand and tap into their strengths and preferences, while guiding them in building competency in those areas that may be more challenging. Susan began her career as an attorney at the global firm, Akin Gump, and her leadership positions at Crowell & Moring, LLC, an AmLaw 100 law firm, and Georgetown Law inform her insights into effective leadership and management styles, the importance of executive presence, defining success as an individual and a leader, and communicating a vision for an organization or a team that inspires followership.

Susan is a thought leader in the areas of leadership, diversity and inclusion, and employee development with articles appearing in publications such as the National Law Journal, Bloomberg BNA, People + Strategy, Training Magazine and Law Practice Today.
Susan’s areas of expertise include executive coaching, human resources management with an emphasis on policy and process, employee relations including internal communications, investigations and performance management, diversity recruitment and management, and attorney recruitment. She has worked with clients including large law firms, financial services companies, nonprofit organizations, and political advocacy campaigns. She has been instrumental in the smooth integration of disparate workforces and change management strategic planning. She received both her bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor from Louisiana State University.
