OVERVIEW
Alexandra (“Alex”) Schwartz has over 20 years of human resources experience working with startups to large organizations. Alex has been recruited to start up and lead human resources departments and help integrate acquisitions, creating or aligning policies, benefits, compensation, organizational development, talent competitive analysis, immigration, legal compliance, safety, workers’ compensation, legal compliance, employee relations, succession, and M&A employee, benefits, and policy integration.
APPROACH
Alex is the Swiss Army knife of HR. She is known for connecting organizational strategy to HR initiatives and policies. She thinks strategically and translates that into impactful action supporting international teams and growth in start-up, early stage, and more-established companies. Fascinated with all things HR, Alex is at the leading edge of workforce trends, best practices, and the future of work, and keen to help others apply these insights to their business.
Alex, like all THEC consultants, is an experienced practitioner. She has led the HR function at several technology companies from 50 to 500 employees in size, including Finvi, a technology company helping organizations utilize automated solutions to enhance revenue recovery; Inovalon, where she was responsible for overseeing and coordinating all HR activities including talent review, performance management, employee relations, employee engagement organization development, and coordination and alignment with parent company’s HR initiatives. She also acted as liaison for all Inovalon HR divisions to provide a single point of contact for leaders and employees on such issues as compensation, HRIS, benefits, legal etc.; and Nihilent Technologies, where as a member of the senior leadership team, she helped to set the general and people strategy of the organization.
BACKGROUND & CREDENTIALS
Having traveled to or lived on all continents except Antarctica, Alex has a broad understanding of culture and diversity. She is an expert in Latin American culture, with fluency in Spanish and Portuguese.
Alex is valued as an important part of leadership, valued as a sounding board to discuss business decisions, organizational structure, and other business-related matters. As a manager, she inspires excellence in her teams, such that they consistently overperform.
Alex graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a bachelor’s degree in international relations. She also has an MBA with a concentration in Human Resources from Indiana University.
In the community, Alex is active in the local Albuquerque, New Mexico SHRM chapter (HRMA) and has served as the head of St. Paul JFS HR committee.
