CHALLENGE
A newly formed executive legal team within a large global organization was facing the challenge of building cohesion and strategic alignment. With a new General Counsel at the helm and several senior-level hires, there was a clear need to shape a high-performing team capable of delivering not only legal expertise but also visionary leadership and effective cross-functional collaboration.
APPROACH
- A comprehensive program of team and individual coaching to establish shared values and ways of working with one another grounded in the Lencioni Model and psychometric assessments to establish benchmarks for understanding each other as individuals and what strengths each brought to the team.
- Explored how these individuals might learn to trust one another and engage in a constructive and professional manner, leveraging their respective strengths and relying on each other for cross-functional collaboration and support.
- Guided leaders through key learnings, including how to engage in healthy conflict around ideas that is constructive and moves the organization forward.
IMPACT
Armed with tools for understanding and action, the executive legal team established trusted relationships that allowed for greater collaboration and cooperation. Additionally, they were able to identify with precision future leaders as she embarked upon a succession planning initiative. THEC continues to support those efforts.
