Kate Pownall, a communications and collaboration expert, joins T.H. Easter Consulting with over 30 years of experience in Human Resources, Communications and Technology. Kate most recently managed communications work streams for cross-functional IT projects for a Fortune 100 corporation. Her specialty is in strengthening employees’ understanding of new technical information by first mastering the change herself, then translating it into clear and concise documentation.

Kate first honed her communications skills as a point person for employee benefits outreach at DuPont. Her efforts included comprehensive pre-retirement counseling and communications development for employees facing retirement. Kate provided information on such sensitive topics as pension calculation, survivor benefits, medical coverage, social security, and stock options.

Kate also was appointed as the corporate e-Pledge chairperson for the United Way campaign for employees at several DuPont locations. In that role, Kate developed training and orientation sessions for new coordinators, including such innovations as creating a SharePoint team room for processing documents and sharing results. The resulting increase in coordinator productivity contributed to an employee participation rate of 100%, and employee contributions yielding almost $3 million. Kate also has extensive experience in web design and content creation and has served as webmaster for both employee intranet and SharePoint environments.

Kate has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resource Management from Wilmington University, Wilmington, DE, along with a minor in Graphic Design and Desk Top Publishing. She is certified as a Six Sigma Greenbelt, and is currently pursuing a certification in Web Applications Development, also from Wilmington University.
